Women Premier: Queen’s University 2 Lurgan 2

I caught up with the Ulster Hockey Women’s Premier League match between Queen’s University and Lurgan in the Saturday lunchtime slot at the Dub.

Lurgan came prepared to take it to table toppers Queens and with the experienced Steph Thompson calling the shots at the back for the visitors they probably enjoyed the best of the first quarter with the students rather slow to get going. However, the quarter ended scoreless.

Chloe McCann fires in the opening score for Lurgan.

Lurgan got on the scoreboard midway through the second quarter with Chloe McCann netting from a penalty corner and that’s how it stayed until half time.
