Women All Ireland: Ulster University Elks 3 Monkstown 1

The Ulster University Elks welcomed Monkstown to the Ulster University Sports Village on Saturday afternoon for their first fixture in the Women’s All Ireland League.

After a busy pre-season the Elks were keen to make a strong start but it was Monkstown who opened the scoring with captain Chloe Watkins netting a penalty stroke after a clash in the D.

The visitors continued to push forward throughout the first quarter but there was no further score and Elks went into the second quarter chasing a one goal deficit.

A penalty corner at the start of the second quarter saw the Elks pull it back to 1 – 1 as Serena Campuzano converted with a reverse stick from out wide . . .
