The final game on pitch 2 at Stormont Pavilion on Saturday was the men’s Minor Cup Final between Parkview 1st XI and Bangor 5th XI.
I originally thought this one was going to be a bit of a chore as Bangor’s Chris Kent scored within the first minute and, the same player, added a second 9 minutes later to give The Seasiders a 0 – 2 lead at the end of the first quarter.
However, Parkview didn’t panic and they stuck to their system and they began to push forward more often in the second quarter. Their efforts were rewarded towards the end of Q2 with Alex Faulkner getting the goal to take the score to 1 – 2 as the teams changed ends . . .
