On Saturday afternoon, Newry Olympic travelled to Deramore Park to play Belfast Harlequins in an Ulster Premier League fixture.

Michael Patterson’s shot found the net, for Quins’ 2nd goal

It took a sometime, but Quins pressure began to tell towards the end of the 1st quarter. Antoine Hirschland’s opening goal, while on his back, came on 10 minutes. This was followed up 2 minutes later by Michael Patterson to give Quins a comfortable 2-0 1st quarter lead.

Though Quins had most of the 2nd quarter play, they did not have things all their own way. Mark McCullough’s 25th minute reverse stick strike pulled a goal back for Newry, to leave Quins up 2-1 at the break.
