Wednesday saw a triple header of boys schools finals at Havelock Park, Banbridge. First up was The Bannister Bowl, contested by Banbridge Academy and Cookstown High School. This trophy is for the Under 14 Age Group and is played over 2 x 25 minute halves.

A physically larger Banbridge side took the game to Cookstown testing Marcus Gillis, the Cookstown keeper. After almost 10 minutes the siege was lifted. Cookstown won a penalty corner and Stanley Jackson scored from close range to give Cookstown an unlikely 1-0 lead.
Banbridge pressed but it was Cookstown, who struck again, when Noah Cuddy’s shot found the back of the net for a 2-0 lead, after 18 minutes.
