CIYMs welcomed Instonians II to Belmont Park for a McCrea Cup match on Saturday afternoon.
In lovely conditions at Belmont, the home team opened up with attacks right from the start. Open running put Instonians under pressure and it didn’t take long until a bit of indiscipline saw awarded CIYMS their first points through a penalty ably converted by No 10, Paddy Beverland.

Again and again, CI drove at the visitors who held out well until late in the first half when CI’s No 2, Finlay finished some great forward play by crossing over the line to increase the lead. Beverland again successfully converting the kick took the score to 10 – 0 and that’s how it stayed until the half time whistle.
