We caught up with the big Ulster Hockey Women’s Premier League varsity clash between Ulster University Elks and Queen’s University Ladies Hockey at UUJ on a cold and wet Saturday afternoon.

Despite the difficult conditions the Elks went on the attack from the start. Resolute defending by Queens kept the scoreboard blank in the first quarter.

Elks continued to press in the second quarter and they broke the deadlock through a well worked penalty corner converted by No 18, Alex Speers.
