On a very grey and murky New Years Eve, Kilkeel II faced North Down II in the final of the Ulster Junior 2 League Cup at Stormont. Only the intensity of the rain varied throughout the game, it never stopped raining.

North Down started brightly testing the Kilkeel keeper, Chris McKee, on a number of occasions. Eventually Kilkeel put together their first serious attack, from which Michael Pobloth scored after 8 minutes.

William Annett found the net for Kilkeel’s 2nd goal

Play was even until William Annet found the net at the end of the quarter, giving Kilkeel a 2-0 1st quarter lead.
