With my entire morning schedule cancelled due to freezing conditions I decided to stick close to home for my afternoon match and covered Larne against Academy at the tropical oasis of the Glynn.
Despite the low afternoon sun the temperature didn’t rise much above 3 – 4 oC and despite both sides giving their all it was a game with quite a few stoppages with good handling at a premium in cold conditions.
Academy got on top up front and that was enough to see them through against a willing but outmuscled Larne side.

Academy went in front after 8 minutes with a penalty from Michael Wilson giving the visitors a 0 – 3 lead.
