On a very windy Wednesday evening, a young Armagh side, made their way to Deramore Park, to play Belfast Harlequins, a side in the league above them, in the Ulster Hockey (Denman) Shield.
After an initial few probes by Quins, it was Armagh, who took the initiative, closing Quins down and launching a series of raids on the Quins’ goal. Unfortunately, they couldn’t put their pressure into goals, much to their frustration & the 1st half was scoreless.
The 3rd quarter started as the 1st half left off with Armagh in the driving seat.

A 35th minute attack from Quins saw Claire Bannerman open the scoring. Worse was to follow for Armagh, when they conceded a Claire Whiteside goal 2 . . .
