I made the short journey across the Dub from the hockey pitch to the Sports Arena for our third All Ireland match of the day, this one featuring Queen’s University against Sligo in AIl 2A.
I’d been hearing plenty of cheers from the Arena as I covered the first half of the hockey and it came as no surprise to find that Queen’s had built up a 38 – 12 lead in the first half. Queen’s had in fact scored six tries, with four conversions, Dolphin replying with two tries and one conversion.
The Queen’s tries came from Matthew Miller, Johnny Hunter (2) , Stuart Martin, James Wright and Graham Curtis with Ritchie McMaster knocking over the conversions.
