We caught up with a couple of busy days at the Portadown Ladies Hockey Club U15 Invitational tournament at the weekend. The competition, that ran from Friday through to Sunday, featured eight club sides from Britain and Ireland.
The teams were split into two groups of four with each group playing on a round robin basis on Friday and Saturday.

The home side, Portadown set the pace in Group 1 with three wins from three games over Friday and Saturday with Cambridge City setting the pace in Group 2 with two wins and a draw.
The results over Friday and Saturday left the two groups as follows.

We caught up with the five games that were played at Edenvilla on Saturday. Portadown looked impressive as they recorded two big wins as did Cambridge City who saw off the challenge of Coleraine but the highlight was the final game of the day between Avoca and Old Alex, the latter sneaking a late winner in an exciting match.
