My third game on Saturday at St Columbas College, Dublin was a women’s qualifying match featuring Dublin sides Monkstown and Corinthian in a bit of a local derby.

With no Ulster interest in this one I was able to relax and enjoy and entertaining and sometimes feisty encounter with a few bumps and bruises for both teams.

Corinthian seemed to have the best of the first quarter with Lauren McGrane prominent in the early exchanges. However a couple of penalty corners went unconverted and Monkstown started to work their way into the game with the first quarter endling scoreless.
