Since they both play at Shaw’s Bridge, Saturday’s Championship Division 1 league fixture between Cooke and Instonians was a ‘home’ game for both clubs.
Cooke started off the brighter and it was perhaps against the run of play when Instonians, in a rare attack took the lead with a David Scott try after 24 minutes.
Though they continued to press Cooke couldn’t breech the Instonians line. They conceded a Zac Davidson try on 36 minutes to leave Instonians going into halftime 10-0 up.
