I was invited along to cover the rearranged U14 Plate Semi Final between Sullivan Upper and Strathearn School on Monday afternoon at the Stormont Pavilion Hockey Pitches.
The much anticipated semi final started in dry but cold conditions with the occasional ray of sunshine breaking through but both teams soon warmed up with the chance of a final going to the eventual winner.
It was a fairly even first half with both sides enjoying significant periods of attack but the well organised defences and excellent work from both keepers kept the scoreboard untroubled during the first half.
Strathearn enjoyed the better of the early stages of the second half putting Sullivan under constant pressure in their own area but the Holywood side turned the tables in the latter stages, winning a . . .
