Carrickfergus welcomed Dromore to Tom Simms Memorial Park on Saturday afternoon for a Towns Cup tie played in blustery conditions.
Dromore started the game in blistering form with Carrick scarcely getting a look in during the first quarter. However, it took the visitors 15 minutes to breach the scrambling Carrick defence with Andrew Black barging over form close range for an unconverted try.

Dromore should have had a second straight from the kick off but their big winger knocked on in the act of scoring. However, captain fantastic Adam McDonald ran in the goal line drop out, from the half way line, for a fine individual effort to give Dromore a 0 – 10 lead. Such was Dromore’s . . .
