On Saturday at lunchtime Queens played Cork Church of Ireland, who were undertaking a 520 mile round trip to fulfil this EYHL Division 2 fixture, at Upper Malone.
Because of the 20 minute injury time in the Schools Cup Quarter Final at Sullivan, I arrived a few minutes late and by then Queens had taken a 1-0 lead through Jess McMaster.
Queens seemed in control and were a ’yard faster’ than their opponents closing them down and stifling possession.
Erin Getty rattled in a 2nd goal, from a prone position, shortly before the end of the 1st quarter.
