Thank goodness the threatening rain did not materialise, though a very strong wind blew across the pitch, for this Provincial Elite League encounter between Cooke 2 and Queens 3 at Shaw’s Bridge.
Cooke hit Queens cold in the first 2 minutes when Marcus Smyth scored a converted try to give Cooke a 7-0 lead.

Queens hit back 5 minutes later when Jack Bailey, got over out wide for a try and on 10 minutes Josh Patterson ran in from 50 metres to put Queens 10-7 up.
Cooke responded 2 minutes later when Matthew Carruthers rumbled in from close range to put Cooke up 12-10.
