On Saturday Queens welcomed Portadown to Upper Malone for a ‘Irish Hockey Trophy – Men’s Section’ fixture. I took in the 1st half before moving across the road to the rugby.
It was nip and tuck from the push back with both attacks testing defences, with goalkeepers brought into play on several occasions.
Alan Stevenson opened the scoring for Portadown after 5 minutes following a penalty corner.
Conor Irwin equalised on 11 minutes, again . . .
