On Saturday morning, Malone U18 played Ballyclare U18 in an Ulster Carpets U18 Regional East League game at Gibson Park.

By halftime Malone had moved into a commanding lead through tries by Sam Green (2), Leon Thornton and Nathan Crawford and 3 Thornton conversions. Ballyclare responded with a single Callum Clarke try, giving Malone a 26-5 lead at the break.
Sam McCann, Les Ewing, Pat Lyons (2) tries and a Green hat trick try, together with 4 Fonton conversions emphasized Malone’s dominance.
Consolation tries from Tom Lindsay and Harley McFarland and a Chad Morris conversion moved Ballyclare’s total up to 17 points.
Malone had a convincing 59-17 win and a bonus point in the bag from a Ballyclare side, which didn’t throw the towel in.
