We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Thank you for your continued support of The Front Row Union Sports.

The PSNI entertained Portrush at Newforge on Saturday afternoon in a top of the table clash in the Men’s Intermediate League.

Report and images by Cyril Boyd Photography

On a murky, grey day the home team opened up brightly with a number of early attacks which Portrush fended off well, their goalkeeper especially in fine form.

Don’t know where this third arm came from but it kept the Portrush goal intact. lol

It was however, a mistake by the keeper, who cleared an attack whilst outside his circle, which lead to a penalty stroke for the home team. Unfortunately, for PSNI, it was a tame effort which was easily saved by the goal minder.

In the second period, PSNI had the ball in the net but the umpire spotted an infraction and immediately disallowed it. It was in this period that the visitors started to put in their own attacks with the home ‘keeper foiling them on at least two occasions.

After the midpoint, things began to get a bit feisty with a number of green and yellow cards shown, as befits a top of the table clash!

The home team were winning a number of penalty corners but their inability to convert would make them pay dearly in the end.

Portrush celebrate the winning goal.

At the other end of the pitch, with the ball bouncing around the PSNI circle, it was Portrush’s No 31, who calmly placed the ball past the goalkeeper to open the scoring.

Despite an onslaught of penalty corners, none of which were successful, resolute defending and fine form by the Port’s keeper saw the visitors take a hard won victory.

An end-to-end match with many chances but just the one goal to settle it!
