Because of car park congestion, I arrived at Pollock Park, mid way through the 1st half with Lurgan leading 14-0 through tries by Peter Martin and Andy Stevenson, both converted by Elliot McKew.
There’s a line in the Dylan Thomas poem, ‘Do not go gentle into that goodnight’ which says, ‘Rage, rage against the dying of the light’. Well that was me on Saturday afternoon in the gloom in Lurgan!
Lurgan increased their lead when McKew, scored and converted his own try to bring Lurgan’s lead up to 21-0

On the stroke of half time Lisburn pulled a try back, when Kieran Lambert scored an unconverted try to leave Lurgan with a 21-5 halftime lead.

Lurgan increased their haul in the 2nd half with another Stevenson try, before Peter Hutchinson scored. Elliott McKew converted both to give Lurgan a comprehensive 35-5 victory and a place in the next round.
