Grosvenor 3 played Banbridge 6 on Saturday afternoon, in the McCambley Cup, at Orangefield Playing Fields.

The rain and sleet, which had started early on Saturday morning did not let up all afternoon, making for poor ball handling in the gathering gloom.

Grosvenor raced to a 15-0 lead in 24 minutes, thanks to unconverted tries by , and a brace to lead 15-0 at halftime.

Banbridge turned the game around after the break with unconverted tries by on 49 minutes and on 55 minutes and when touched down on 70 minutes, the game was level at 15-15.

The tie was decided in Grosvenor’s favour when scored another unconverted try after 75 minutes.

Grosvenor held out 20-15 in the final moments for a place in the next round.
