On Sunday Ballynahinch met Lisburn in a Women’s Championship League game at Ballymacarn Park.

Lisburn settled first and after a series of phases took the lead after 5 minutes, when Lauren Szymura touched down for an unconverted try in the corner.

Ballynahinch slowly came back into the game and were rewarded with a Jane Patton penalty goal after 16 minutes, to pull the score back to 3 – 5.
Play continued between the 22s, until Lisburn No 8, Jessica Wray, broke free to score an unconverted try and give Lisburn a 10 – 3 lead after 25 minutes.
Ballynahinch responded with a well worked try by winger Paula McKay, converted by Patton on 33 minutes.

The half finished 10 apiece.
On 43 minutes Rachel Morton pounced on a Patton cross kick, that appeared to be going dead, to claim an unconverted try in the corner and give Hinch a 15 – 10 lead.
The lead increased after 54 minutes when McKay converted a long range penalty to give Hinch a 18 – 10 lead.

Another Patton cross kick was followed up by Naimh McClean, who dotted down midway out for an unconverted try. Hinch lead 23 – 10.
The scoring was completed by a Patton brace, on 72 and 75 minutes, which she converted, to give Hinch a very comprehensive 37 – 10 victory over a Lisburn team, who battled to the end.
