We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Thank you for your continued support of The Front Row Union Sports.

Thanks to the traffic for the Leinster URC match it took me a good bit longer to got to this match, from Blackrock RFC, than expected. As I arrived Glenanne were 1 – 0 up thanks to a goal from Shane O’Donoghue and they scored their second from captain just as I was taking my place behind the goal line. The game was 20 minutes in.

Shane O’Donoghue grabbed a brace for Glenanne at Pembroke Wanderers in the EYHL on Saturday afternoon in Dublin.

From what I could make of it, from my inexperienced eye, the game actually looked pretty even and was starting to get a bit spikey with six cards handed out throughout the match, 2 green and 1 yellow to each side.

A rousing half time team talk set up Pembroke for a strong start to the second half with captain leading the charge. A powerful run from the halfway line by Dale saw him slide home Pembroke’s first to take the score to 1 – 2 on the 42nd minute and 8 minutes later Dale’s strike from a penalty corner made it’s way to who guided it onto the net to tie the game at 2 – 2.

A powerful run from Pembroke Wanderers captain Julian Dale put them back in the match against Glenanne in the EYHL on Saturday afternoon in Dublin.

Parity didn’t last long as Glenanne immediately forced a penalty corner for O’Donoghue to net, for his second of the game, giving Glenanne a 2 – 3 lead going into the final quarter.

The game was wrapped up in the final quarter with the brief reemergence of Glenanne’s , the vocal bane of the officials, doing his talking with his stick this time to send a reverse shot home for a 2 – 4 win for Glenanne.
