Coleraine Grammar welcomed Wallace High to their Riverside playing fields on Saturday morning for a senior squad hit out, with the hosts recording a 31 – 7 win in an entertaining game.
With both teams resting the bulk of their 1st XV starters the game broke down a few times, due to lack of familiarity, but there were more than a few players that caught they eye.
Coleraine got of the mark early with a try from Harry Mitchell in the opening minutes, Harry Caskey added the conversion to give Coleraine a 7 – 0 lead.

Wallace looked for a response and applied pressure in the Coleraine half but they were unable to break down the home sides defence. In contrast , Coleraine looked to pick up points in their limited incursions into the Wallace red zone with Caskey landing a penalty before Cameron Leighton sliced through midfield for their second try, this one under the posts.

Caskey added the extras to give the Coleraine a 17 – 0 lead at the break.
Wallace went over for their only score early in the second half with Carter McCluskey hitting the line after a period of sustained pressure. The try was converted making it a 10 point game.

However, as both sides swapped out their players it was Coleraine who dominated with No 2 Shaw Fleck and No 12 Tom Curry both scoring, after impressive runs, to wrap up the game.

Caskey completed an impressive game from the tee by converting both scores to give a final score of Coleraine 31 Wallace 7.
