It was dank and overcast for the visit of Enniskillen Royal School to Osborne to play RBAI on Saturday morning.
Inst started off brightly moving the ball quickly through a number of phases and it was no surprise that they manoeuvred the Enniskillen defence around to create space for Oliver Metcalfe to score an unconverted try in the corner.
Inst continued to dominate but midway through the half Enniskillen began to find possession and territory.
Sloppy Inst defence allowed Sam Milligan to squeeze in close to the corner flag for an Enniskillen try converted by Eddie Keyes after 25 minutes. Two minutes later even sloppier Inst defence allowed flanker David Stinson to canter 50 metres up the right wing, breaking tackles before he scored an unconverted try in the same corner.
Enniskillen took a 12 – 5 lead into half time.
Within 5 minutes of the restart Taine Haire increased Enniskillen lead with an unconverted try in the left corner. Inst fought back 5 minutes later with a close range unconverted try by Alex Weir, but not to be outdone Stephen Balfour scored an Enniskillen try under the posts, converted by Keys, after a sweeping move.
With minutes remaining Ben Cooke scored a final Inst try beside the posts, converted by Jack Dickson to leave the final score 24 – 17 in Enniskillen’s favour.
Enniskillen will have enjoyed their journey home to Fermanagh.
