If last Saturday night’s Storm Dave’s weather was bad, then Friday night’s weather was horrific for the visit of La Rochelle to Ravenhill to play Ulster in a European Challenge Cup Quarter Final Tie against Ulster. A strong, gusting, diagonal wind, which carried heavy rain for most of the game, caused handling issues and made it impossible to keep the front lens element dry.
Once again Ulster were fast off the blocks, playing into the elements.

Zac Ward cut through the La Rochelle defence to open the scoring. Nathan Doak’s conversion had Ulster 7-0 up on 4 minutes.
A short range penalty goal by Nathan Doak had Ulster 10-0 up after 9 minutes.
A long range penalty goal, wind assisted, by Diego Jurd had La Rochelle back to 3-10 after 21 minutes.
