On Saturday morning Ballymena Academy faced Royal Belfast Academical Institution in a Medallion Shield tie in Ballymena.

In front of a big crowd, it was an evenly contested the first half. It was the home side who opened the scoring with Charlie Stewart crossing over in the corner with Mason McNeill adding the extra points to give Ballymena a 7-0 lead.

Inst quickly rallied and Moss McCormick, crashed over with Lewis Buchanan, adding the conversion to tie the game at 7 apiece.
