On Saturday morning Ballymena Academy faced Royal Belfast Academical Institution in a Medallion Shield tie in Ballymena.

Charlie Stewart opened Ballymena’s account

In front of a big crowd, it was an evenly contested the first half. It was the home side who opened the scoring with Charlie Stewart crossing over in the corner with Mason McNeill adding the extra points to give Ballymena a 7-0 lead.

Moss McCormick replied for Inst

Inst quickly rallied and Moss McCormick, crashed over with Lewis Buchanan, adding the conversion to tie the game at 7 apiece.

Ballymena regained the lead 10-7 with a penalty goal kicked by Mason McNeill but RBAI went into the break leading, after a fine . . .
