Early on Thursday, with a 9.30am push back, Ulster U16 Boys played UK Mentors in the final game of a series of three, at the Jordanstown Sports Village. It was grey, overcast and now and then a slight mizzle.

Ulster took control with midfield finding forwards pushing the Mentors defence back. It was no surprise when Finn Thompson’s strike from the left of the D found the net on 3 minutes.
Ulster continued to press with the Mentors forwards only having rare incursions into the Ulster half. Josh Gill finished off a move to move Ulster out to 2-0 after 8 minutes. Ulster held this lead at the end of the 1st quarter.
