The rain had moved in by the time we got to the Ulster Hockey Women’s Intermediate Plate Final between Instonians and North Down on Saturday afternoon at Stormont Pavilion.
It was a tight enough first half between the two teams. Instonians took a 1 – 0 lead at the start of the second quarter thanks to a goal from Nicola McIlroy but Tilly O’Neill hit back for North Down to take the score to 1 – 1 as the teams changed ends.
