Club Under 18 Cup : Banbridge 20 Coleraine 8 CE Bowman Final

Game 3 of the triple header, played at the Kingspan Stadium on Saturday was the U18 CE Bowman Cup, between Banbridge and Coleraine. Weather conditions had deteriorated. There was now driving rain and a biting wind, in the gathering gloom.

Conditions were challenging for running rugby

Banbridge took the lead from a 4th minute penalty goal, kicked into the wind by Denis Kerr. On 16 minutes Coleraine replied with a James Francis Burns penalty to level the game.

From a scrum on the Coleraine 22, David Kehoe saw space and darted in to score under the posts. Kerr’s conversion gave Banbridge a 10-3 lead.

Following a yellow card Kerr kicked a penalty goal, on the stroke of halftime to put Banbridge out to 13-3.
