McDowell Plate: Coleraine Grammar School 0 The Royal School Armagh 3 Final

On Wednesday afternoon Coleraine Grammar School 2XI faced The Royal School Armagh 2XI in the McDowell Plate Final at Stormont.

It didn’t take long for the Armagh machine to move into action. With telling passes they forced the Coleraine defence, who were keen to put 11 players, behind the ball, back. Though they created chances they couldn’t break the Coleraine defence and at halftime the score remained 0-0.

Faith Jackson scored a brace of goals for Armagh

The Coleraine attack lived off scraps as Armagh continued to press in the third quarter. Eventually the dam broke, when Faith Jackson’s drive found the Coleraine net to put Armagh 1-0 up after 32 minutes. Despite more chances, Armagh led by the solitary goal at the end of the third quarter.
