On Wednesday afternoon Royal School Dungannon U14XI faced Victoria College U14XI in the Junior Shield Final at Stormont.
It may have been nerves, but Dungannon took a long time to settle. In the meantime, Victoria took control, creating but not taking chances in front of goal. The 1st quarter ended scoreless.

With the second quarter going the way of the first, Victoria took the lead in perhaps a fortuitous manner with a Lily Williamson strike on 23 minutes for 1-0. The goalkeeper deflected the shot on to the post for it to rebound and hit the keeper’s heels before rolling into the goal. Victoria took this lead into halftime.
Victoria were still in control in the third quarter, though towards the close Dungannon began to string passes together and stretch the Victoria defence.
