On an unusually sunny Saturday Afternoon, 2nd placed Instonians faced 3rd placed Dublin University in an AIL1B fixture at Shawsbridge. A strong cool diagonal wind blew across the pitch, initially in Instonians favour.

Instonians were quickly off the mark, when Bradley McNamara crossed with barely 2 minutes on the clock for a 5-0 lead.
Despite the lion’s share of possession and territory poor handling let Instonians down and they butchered 4 clear cut chances to increase the lead.
On a rare excursion into the Instonians 22 Dublin University took a quick tap penalty and Alex Finlay scored. Matty Lynch’s conversion gave Dublin University a 7-5 lead, which they took into halftime.
Now playing with the wind, Dublin University kept the scoreboard ticking over with a Matty Lynch long range penalty goal for 10-5 on 51 minutes.
