Women’s All Ireland: Queen’s University 1 University College Dublin 0

On Saturday the Women’s All Ireland Hockey League recommenced after the Christmas break. University College Dublin were the visitors to The Dub to face Queens University at Saturday lunchtime.

It rained for most of the game, only the intensity varied.

Neither side could impose themselves. If UCD held sway in the 1st quarter, then Queens had the upper hand in the 2nd quarter. Halftime was reached scoreless.

Queens captain, Jenna McCarlie, scored the game’s solitary goal

UCD had the better of the 3rd quarter and would have taken the lead, but the goal was disallowed after discussion between the umpires. The 3rd quarter ended scoreless.
