On Tuesday afternoon Methodist College faced Sullivan Upper School in a replay of Saturday’s drawn Medallion Shield Quarter Final Tie at Pirrie Park. A deceptively strong cold wind blew diagonally across the pitch.

Sullivan set about Methody in the opening moments driving into the 22 with big carries from their pack. Methody survived 10 minutes of pressure and in their first attack of the game won a penalty, which was despatched by Felix Wylie to give Methody a 3-0 11th minute lead.
Defences largely cancelled each other out with some huge tackles coming in. The game moved back and forth between the 22s as both sides sought an advantage against robust defences. Halftime was reached with Methody holding a slender 3-0 lead.
