We caught up with the Medallion Plate match between Banbridge Academy and Ballymena Academy at Banbridge on Saturday morning.
Ballymena were quick out of the block with an early try from a pile over, with prop Harry Sloan believed to have got the touch down for a 0 – 5 lead.
The visitors crossed again seven minutes later with Harvey McAuley getting the try which was converted by Charlie Kerr for a 0 – 12 lead and that’s how it stayed until half time.
A resurgent Banbridge pulled it back to 12 – 12 at the start of the second half. Centre Rylee Edwards picked up an unconverted try shortly after the restart before winger Elijah Myles picked up their second try nine minutes later. Isaac McCrum converted the second to tie the game.
