On Wednesday afternoon Friends School 2XI faced Royal Belfast Academical Institution 2XI in the final of the Prior Shield at the Dub. The game was switched at short notice from Shawsbridge, where concerns over a Floodlight stanchion damaged in the winds, meant it was unsafe to host the final there.

Inst dominated the 1st half closing Friends down and preventing any meaningful ball reaching midfield. The Friends forwards only had rare forays into the Inst half. Despite this domination Inst couldn’t find the Friends’ goal, thanks in no short measure to the heroics of the friends keeper, Charlie White. Halftime was reached scoreless.
The Inst forwards got their act together in the 3rd quarter.
