We caught up with the epic Championship 2 encounter between Larne and Academy at The Glynn on a cold and dull Saturday afternoon.

Larne started the game with some intent pinning Academy in their 22 until Geoff McKinty powered over for close range for the opening try. Aaron McBride added the extras for a 7 – 0 lead.

Larne continued to use the strong wind at their back and with McBride keeping them on the front foot they picked up their second try 15 minutes later when that man himself rolled back the years to jink over under the posts. McBride converted his own try for a 14 – 0 lead.
