On Wednesday morning, at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club, Ballymena Academy faced Banbridge Academy in the second Semi Final of the Under 14 Stevenson Cup.
It was a very cagey 1st quarter, as both teams tested each other out, but defences reigned supreme, as the quarter ended 0-0.
Banbridge edged the opening minutes of the 2nd quarter. Phalynn Crossley’s 19th minute shot gave Banbridge a 1-0 halftime lead.
In the 3rd quarter Banbridge took control dominating midfield but were unable to covert any chances. Ballymena had the Banbridge defence scrambling, at times, but couldn’t conjure up an equaliser.
