We caught up with the U14 Stevenson Cup semi final between Lurgan Junior High and Cookstown High at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club on Wednesday afternoon.
Lurgan had a strong first quarter but a late penalty corner saw Cookstown High take a 0 – 1 lead into the second quarter as Genevieve Phillips Booth found the net.
The Lurgan team continued to push forward throughout the second quarter but Cookstown appeared happy to soak up the pressure and look for a break. There were no further goals and the game went into the second half with Cookstown still defending their single goal lead.
