Schools Friendly: Royal Belfast Academical Institution 12 St Mary’s College 14

On Saturday morning, St Mary’s College, from Dublin, were the visitors to Osborne to play Royal Belfast Academical Institution in a Schools Friendly.

It was obvious from kick off that defences would dominate play. Both sides tackled fiercely with no quarter asked nor given.

Donal Mazoor opened the scoring for St Mary’s

Eventually a defensive error let St Mary’s in. Donal Manzoor slipped off a couple of tackles to score in the left corner. Paul Neary’s conversion from the narrow angle gave St Mary’s a 7-0 lead after 18 minutes.

Defences couldn’t be breeched for the rest of the first half and St Marys led 7-0 at halftime.

The second half started as the first half ended with defences on top.
