We caught up with the Schools Cup Group A match between Belfast High and Omagh Academy at Shore Road on Saturday morning.
This was an excellent game between two determined sides. Omagh got the scoreboard clicking over in the third minute with a try from Isaac Crawford, off an attacking lineout, for a 0 – 5 lead.
The High School hit back two minutes later with a penalty from Matthew McCabe to take the score to 3 – 10.
The High School played some delightful high risk rugby, with center Ben Gardiner to the fore, as they tried to run from deep at every opportunity. They got their reward 20 minutes later when a delighted Evan Prior broke clear to score in the corner for an 8 – 5 lead.
However, the disciplined Omagh side retook the lead just before the break with Crawford going over off . . .
