We caught up with the Stevenson Cup Group Match between Portadown College and Methodist College at Edenvilla on Wednesday afternoon. With both teams on maximum points from the first three rounds, this game would decide the winner of Group 3.
Portadown started strongly and kept Methodist College pinned in there own half for most of the first quarter. Methody defended well but a 12th minute penalty stroke from, Portadown captain, Rebekah Lennon gave the home sie a 1 – 0 lead at the end of Q1.
Portadown continued to dominate possession in the second quarter, with Evie Thompson picking up a lot of work, but Methody began to break out with more intent as the half wore on with Erin Pim and Beth Kennedy appearing in my viewfinder more often.
