We caught up with the Schools Cup Group D match between Friends School and Coleraine Grammar in Lisburn on Saturday morning.
Friends School, Lisburn, got of the the best of starts in this game with an early try from Scott Henderson.
In a tight first half it was Henderson again who made it to the try line for he second score of the morning. Ross Glover added the conversion to give Friends a 12 – 0 lead which they took into the half time break.

Henderson picked up this hat-trick try about 50 minutes in and, with Glover adding the extras, Lisburn lead 19 – 0 with around 20 minutes remaining.

Coleraine finally got on the scoreboard in the closing minutes when Charlie Millar battled over for a try, converted by Ben Todd, to take the score to 19 – 7 with 5 minutes remaining.
A try from Coleraine’s Lewis Marshall, two minutes later, again converted by Todd, took the score to 19 – 14 and set up a nervy finish for the home team.

Friends held on, in their first pool game, for the win in what looks like being a very competitive group.
