Junior 5: Owls 2XI 0 Castle 2XI 2

We caught up with Ulster Hockey Junior 5 match between Owls 2XI and Castle 2XI at Roughfort early Saturday afternoon.

Castle had the better of the first half, creating a few chances which kept Owl’s keeper Naimh Cunningham busy.

Niamh Cunningham had a good game for Owls in a busy first half.

Cunningham made a few good clearances but was eventually beaten by a penalty corner strike from Castle’s Nikki Taggart towards the end of Q1 to give the visitors a 0 – 1 lead as we went into Q2.

Nikki Taggart opened the scoring for Castle.

The game was more even in the second quarter but Castle picked up a second goal as Beth McCluskey found . . .
