We caught up with the Women’s All Ireland Hockey League match between Ulster University Elks and Portadown at Jordanstown Sports Village early Saturday afternoon.
Portadown returned to the All Ireland Hockey League in some style with an impressive win against Ulster University Elks.
Elks looked to have the better of the first quarter winning several sort corners but they were unable to convert and the teams went into Q2 with the game tied at 0 – 0.

Though Elks still enjoyed the lions share of possession the young Portadown side started to break forward with more regularity and they broke the deadlock on the 23 minute as Lara Wilson found the net after rounding Elks keeper Gemma Ferguson.
