Women All Ireland: Portadown 2 Queen’s University 2

We caught up with the entertaining game between Portadown and Queen’s University in the Women’s All Ireland League match at Edenvilla on Saturday evening.

This was always going to be a close game between the EYHL’s latest two members, and going by last season’s encounters, it was also going to be entertaining.

Evie Girvan opened the scoring for Portadown.

Portadown were quick off the starting blocks with a lovely strike by Evie Girvan after 4 minutes to give the home side a 1 – 0 lead in Q1.

Annie Gordon was quickest to react for Portadown’s second goal.

The home side looked to enjoy the bulk of territory and possession in a lively first . . .
