Women All Ireland: Portadown 1 Railway Union 5

We caught up with the Women’s All Ireland League match between Portadown and Railway Union at Edenvilla on Sunday afternoon.

Despite their impressive start to the All Ireland League, this was always going to be a tough one for newly promoted Portadown as they faced the Champions Trophy winners on the second day of a two-match weekend.

It was a close enough opening quarter, but Railway began to control territory and possession as the game progressed.

The pressure began to tell in Q2, and Railway took the lead on the 27th minute when Hollai Quinn lobbed the keeper in a goalmouth scramble for a 0 – 1 lead, which the visitors took into the second half.
